  • The only problem with this is that (almost) every American pays a pretty big chunk of change to the federal government. It's a personal obligation not a state one. And if the feds want to give California taxpayers a break why not everyone else?

  • Gypsy, Read the story... The governm,ent fears lone wolves as they do not have gorups to infiltrate and simply put can't be charged with anything until they've done what they're planning. Words may come before action, but only for fools.

  • The issue isn't that they were "getting free text books." But more than it's essentially a cover for a cash benefit as the textbooks could then be provided to friends or the market for both cash and non-cash benefit.
